Who Are We?
Metu Mech Nautronics is a young, dynamic and innovative team operating in the field of autonomous driving and submarine technologies, founded by METU students in 2024. With their passion for transferring the theoretical knowledge they have acquired at the university into practice and their understanding of continuous development, they aim to contribute to the technologies of the future by producing original projects.
Our team consists of six sub-teams: Mechanical Design and Production, Software and Electronics, Organization and Finance. This structure, which combines knowledge and skills from different disciplines, works in collaboration to produce more comprehensive and effective solutions. At the same time, Metu Mech Nautronics, which focuses on both winning and developing by participating in national and international competitions, continues to grow and present innovative ideas thanks to the experience it has gained.
Metu Mech Nautronics aims to develop pioneering projects in underwater technologies in the long term, to expand the areas of use of autonomous systems and to inspire new generations growing up in the field of engineering, and continues its work for the advancement of science and technology. In this direction, it aims to achieve sustainable success both academically and in the sector with disciplined teamwork and innovative approach.

Our Vision
Metu Mech Nautronics is an innovative and dynamic student team that aims to be a pioneer in autonomous underwater systems. We develop national engineering solutions using locally sourced materials, environmentally friendly methods and advanced algorithms. Our team, driven by the passion to transform theoretical knowledge into practice and the understanding of continuous development, consists of six sub-teams: Mechanical Design and Production, Software and Electronics, Organization and Finance. We develop innovative projects by encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and continue to grow and progress with the experience we gain in national and international competitions.
Our Mission
Our mission is to produce groundbreaking projects in underwater technologies, expand the areas of use of autonomous systems and inspire new generations of engineers. We continue to contribute to the advancement of science and technology with disciplined teamwork in order to ensure sustainable academic and sectoral success.

Our Values
The project we are developing is more than just a competition vehicle; it is a comprehensive initiative that provides undergraduate students with project-based learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world engineering experience. Together with our faculty advisors, we aim to incorporate this work into academic research during the 2025–2026 academic year.
At the same time, the project lays a foundation for reducing our country’s reliance on external sources in autonomous underwater systems and for advancing home-grown knowledge and technology. By developing this technology locally for strategic sectors such as defense, maritime, energy, and search-and-rescue, we will support long-term industry growth and help cultivate a highly skilled workforce.
